Life at IronFX

It’s been a while since I wrote a post. The reason why is that I’ve been going through some changes in my career. As you know by now, if you have followed my previous blog posts I’m a huge Linux fan. However the downside is that there aren’t many linux jobs out there, at least speaking about the Cypriot market.

Businesses are focused more on Microsoft Windows and MacOs products, which means that I have to stay up to date with the current technological trends. At the moment I’m employed by Noteris Services Ltd (IronFX) and I feel that it is a great match for my skill set and mindset.

From the very first days I felt a warm welcoming by my team members and the CIO of the company is a man of humor and growth. He suggested as a team to invest in our talents by enrolling in courses that will benefit both the company and ourselves. I’m about to pursue a certificate in Microsoft 365 which is very valuable in todays market.

By now I thought that I could marry my passion with my profession, but my career is taking a shift towards Windows systems. To be honest I feel a bit disappointed, but on the other hand grateful and proud. IronFX offers many benefits and I believe it’s a great place to work. For example a few weeks ago the company organized paintball as a team bonding event. It was the first time I experienced the game. The rush of shooting and being shot at from the opponent team was an experience of a lifetime. We had the opportunity to showcase our Rambo and John Wick skills.

Unfortunately because I have a bad knee I wasn’t able to experience the game as I much as I wanted to. I know I have a killer instinct, that’s why God gave me a bad knee to spare a few lives in the battleground! Jokes aside I was shot a lot but it wasn’t as painful as other people who experienced the game told me. Can’t wait for the next event to happen.

On my day to day duties I offer technical support to the users of the company, physically or over remote connection. I undertake the onbording and the offbording of users, I answer calls and responding to messages through our different chat platforms.

I see myself working at IronFX for a long time as it offers professional opportunities and culture that encourages athleticism and having fun while working hard.
