Get to know me (Part 2)
Stopping the clock
It’s been almost two weeks since my first blog post and as I have promised you I will write a little more about myself. For those who haven’t read the “Get to know me (Part 1)” article I recommend you do so. Then you can come back here so you can have a better understanding of who I am and what I stand for. You can find the link for my previous post by clicking here.
For those who have already visited my personal website and blog, I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. We may already know each other from a social gathering or by being friends. As I have mentioned in my previous post I value time more than anything in the world but why is that? Long story short my grandfather passed away when I was around the age of fourteen. As a way to honor his memory I kept his watch. It is a beautiful watch that was given to my grandfather from my uncle as a birthday present.
The emotional bond
I’ve always felt an emotional bond to my grandfather’s watch but it wasn’t until recently that I have decided to put it on. It has a kinetic battery which means it needs movement to work properly. At first I didn’t know that at all but after a while I figured it out and I was very much impressed when it finally started ticking.
My first instinct though was to use the manual button to stop the time. I stood their in awe with a bit of a shock trying to hold my tears of joy. At the time I was unemployed which meant I had the freedom to do whatever I choose to with my time. The first thing that came in my mind was to start writing down all the things that I remembered about my grandfather. The man he was with the time we spent together.
The productive side of me
Time is nothing different than the life we choose to live. The daily choices we make which ultimately shape our reality. Thankfully I’ve been fortunate enough to study abroad and was exposed to different cultures and ways of thinking. As you can understand by now I’m a deep thinker and sometimes an over thinker as many friends have told me.
I’m not the type of person who can sit still doing nothing all day. I like my schedule very busy. Being productive at something is second nature to me. This is one of the reasons I decided to start this blog. I get bored easily and when I find myself stuck, without doing anything meaningful I feel like someone is sucking the life out of me.
Life Habits
When I was younger I used to party a lot but not anymore. Now I prefer more quiet places to hang around with friends. I love taking walks by the sea at night listening to the sound of the waves or by having my headphones on listening to my favorite playlists.
Before I go to sleep at night I usually grab a book from my library and read a few pages. Most of the times I take notes or highlight parts I find important to remember. The last thing I do before I close my eyes, is to try and get organized for the day ahead. I’m not an organized person by nature but I’ve learned to practice time management principles to increase my productivity. Every once in a while I decompress from my daily routine by doing something spontaneous. It helps me stay motivated and again keeping me from getting bored.
At this point I’d like to close by letting you know that I do as many of us have a dark side too. I have many flaws I’m not perfect no one is. However I believe that a person can grow and learn from his mistakes so he can become better.
